The Assignment: The idea of Photo Fiction is to write a story of around 100-200 words (which is also called Flash Fiction) based on a photo as a prompt. In this particular photo fiction, the story must be based on the photo below.

“Ladies and gentlemen if you look to your left, you will see the last bookstore in the world. As you know, back in 2015, the United Nations banned the printing of books of any kind to save the depleted forests. Citizens around the world were forced to go digital.”

“This is it Marge. Another item on your bucket list,” said Henry as he kissed his wife on the cheek.

“If you’re leaving my tour at this fabulous site, I wish you continued excitement for the rest of your stay. I’m Jose, your tour guide and thank you for sharing your time today.”

“It says here in my digital guide that one hundred years ago due to the ban, collectors around the world grabbed up all the printed books. Hooked on Books held firm and now the government supports them as a museum,” said Marge.

Henry and Marge joined the queue to enter the museum. Suddenly a man in a dark trench coat tapped Henry on shoulder and leaned in close.

“How’d you like to buy the little woman a dream gift?” said the man.

“What!”

The man opened his trench coat to reveal it was lined with books of all types.
