The Assignment: The idea of Photo Fiction is to write a story of around 100-200 words (which is also called Flash Fiction) based on a photo as a prompt. In this particular photo fiction, the story must be based on the photo below.  This is a serial story, so I encourage you to read part 1 , part 2 , part 3, part 4 ,part 5, part 6 and part 7.  And now, the Incident, part 8.

Frank was becoming anxious for Joanna and her friends so he paced while he waited for the police. Finally his patience ran out. He ran down to his basement for a hunting rifle. Crossing the backyards, Frank moved to their kitchen window and peered in.   He had a clear view into the living room. The women were sitting on the sofa and the man dressed in black towered over them. Although it was difficult through the window, he could hear the heated conversation.

“Why are you doing this Brad? Why did you poison the professor back in college?” asked Joanna, fear noticeable in her voice.

“Don’t you remember? I wasn’t in college any longer. I wanted you to leave with me but you had to meet with the professor. It was because of Professor Jones that I was expelled.”

At the sound of police sirens, everyone turned towards the window. Frank used this momentary distraction to enter through the backdoor.

Brad laughed and said, “Don’t get too hopeful ladies. The perimeter of the house is rigged with so many explosives, one touch of my cell phone and this house and probably a few nearby will be a pile of rocks.”

I loved the way you used that prompt 🙂 A great story again MaryAnn. I like where this is going, with their would-be rescuer there as well 🙂

  2. Either Frank is crazy lucky or Brad was bluffing about the explosives. I guess we’ll find out the rest next week, eh?
