The Assignment: The idea of Photo Fiction is to write a story of around 100-200 words (which is also called Flash Fiction) based on a photo as a prompt. In this particular photo fiction, the story must be based on the photo below.  This is a serial story, so I encourage you to read part 1 , part 2 and part 3  And now, the Incident, part 4.

“I think Marisa was saying that I know the person she suspected,” said Joanna.

“I agree.  She said you would be surprised by who it was,” commented Mary.

“My mom had an extreme fascination with following the case due to my connection.  She kept every newspaper article written, ” said Joanna opening a file folder.

“We need to read all the articles and take notes.  For any person mentioned, no matter how remote, write it down.  If something or someone seems odd, mention it in addition to writing it down.”

After an hour, Linda spoke.  “Joanna did you know that Brad, the boy you used to date, was interviewed the night it happened?  Here, read this article.”

Joanna began to read out loud.

The campus community was shocked when a favorite professor was poisoned last night.  I caught up with students on campus shortly after the incident and emotions were running high.

“I was in the University Museum taking notes for a paper on industrial laundry machines while across campus, a professor was being murdered.  It’s shocking,” said student, Brad Kincaid.

Joanna was about to tell her friends that Brad had been expelled from the University when the doorbell rang.
