Have you ever taken part in a writing chain?

Kerrie Salsac has created a novel writing challenge. Head over to her place to take a look.  You can see all the rules there too.

Here is my second submission for The Wall

At the back of the cave, earthen steps lead underground.  With a torch covered in tar, Eliya lead the way.  On the walls, Jadir saw drawings that depicted battles between the Adjani and creatures that were unfamiliar to him.  After ten steps, they entered a room lighted by stone sconces filled with wax affixed to the walls.  Hanging from all available wall space were stone and metal weapons.  Many of them were similar to the weapons of Jadir’s people.

“Now we train.”  Eliya had a gleam in her eye when she handed a few weapons to her new pupil.

I see a training montage in the future, or screaming terror as they’re interrupted by some creature 😀 I like this direction!

Most cool. I like the drawings on the wall. There’s history here. And now she can teach him the fighting styles of her people. Jadir may emerge as a powerful man out of all this. I really like the character development opportunities in this.

  3. Joe Owens says:

Will Jadir recall some ancient connection to the warrior of legend? Will he fulfill the prophecy of the one who came to free his people and reunite the tribes? Or could he be a dark omen that will terrorize his secure home?

Sounds like she’s not just going to take him home then! I wonder if training will awaken his inner warrior?
