Have you ever taken part in a writing chain?

Kerrie Salsac has created a novel writing challenge. Head over to her place to take a look.  You can see all the rules there too.

Here is my fourth submission for He’s Behind You

As the scaffolding moved up the side of the building, Ben held on for dear life.

“Don’t look down,” said Kelly.

Ben looked down.  He could see much of the surrounding city.  “It’s Monday, why are the streets deserted?”

“I told you not to look down.  When we get out alive, we’ll have more to deal with out there.”

“Why did my Uncle react so strongly when you told him you broke a window?”

Before she could answer, Ben began to scream.  The slime oozed down the mop handle and when it reached Ben’s forearm, his skin began to peel.

Love the line “‘Don’t look down.’ Ben looked down.” Figures!
So the creatures are out and about, maybe, and the creature-slime is not only flammable but acidic as well. Nice!

Yikers! That slime is really dangerous stuff. Of course, Ben looks down when told not to. He’s consistent at least. Great addition. 🙂
