The Assignment: The idea of Photo Fiction is to write a story of around 100-200 words (which is also called Flash Fiction) based on a photo as a prompt. In this particular photo fiction, the story must be based on the photo below.  I am writing another serial story. part 1 part 2 part 3

Stained Glass window on the old Town Hall in Dover. This building used to be Maison Dieu (house of God) when it was built in 1253. It was added to and added to, becoming a gaol, a hospital before becoming the Town Hall. The stained glass is representative of the Cinque Ports.

After the crew began their tract back, Potter heard a noise and looked up so he didn’t see something on the path in front of him.  Potter tripped and landed in the brush.

“Captain, you better see this,” called Michaels looking at what caused Potter to trip.

Potter got to his feet and looked on as the Captain peered at Michaels holding a steel rod about the length of his forearm.  Fastened to the end of the rod was a metal chain with a spiked metal ball on the end.

“If I am not mistaken, that is a knight’s mace.  How did you trip Seaman?” asked the Captain.

“I heard a noise and was looking up,” answered Potter pointing at the trees.

Looking up and seeing nothing, Captain Wonder panned the woods around them.  He noticed sunlight gleam off of something in the path to their right.  When he reached the area, he looked down in amazement.

“I believe we are looking at a knight’s halberd,” said the Captain.  Lying in the path was a long staff with an axe like blade on the end.

“We need to investigating further.  It’s not just Nazis,” said the Captain into his radio.

Ooooh, Knights and Nazis! I’m liking where this is going. I’m starting to wonder if Al picks pictures just to see what hoops those of us with serials going on will jump through to fit them in the narrative 😉 Great work!

    • So true. When I saw the stained glass window this morning, I thought really! What am I going to do with that? What about my Nazis? Alas I am forced to have my story get even more bazaar and that is a good thing. Thanks for reading.
