Witness Through a Sun Catcher

Janet climbed out of bed and took two aspirin.  Earlier she had decided to stay home and had gone back to bed with a massive migraine.  It was now noon and time to see if she could eat something.  In the kitchen, Janet started the coffee and made some toast.  Opening the backdoor to admire her new dolphin sun catcher, Janet heard a scream and looked up at the windows of the apartments behind her home.  She watched in horror as a man plunged a knife into the chest of a woman.  Janet grabbed her cellphone and pressed 911.

You even had me scrolling up to see what I could see in the sun-catcher. Well done!

    Not something you see everyday.

Woah! Dramatic twist there that I so did not see coming.
I love how you saw a picture of a dolphin and went, hmm… murder! haha

  4. Great number. A touch of Rear Window here. Lovely.

  5. Dear Maryann,

Coffee, toast and a murder. I’m sure this didn’t make her head feel any better. Good one.

Two aspirin for migraine? I’d like to get my hands on THOSE aspirin! Seriously, it made me do a double take on your tale. Is it as it is, or were those aspirin something else entirely, something which would attract hallucinations or even worse, turn your character into a murderer? Your tale stimulated my imagination. 🙂

  7. Yes, I see the window. She has a perfect view.
