Submitted for Sunday Photo Fiction

The Assignment: The idea of Photo Fiction is write a story of around 100-200 words (which is also called Flash Fiction) based on a photo as a prompt. In this particular photo fiction, the story must be based on the photo below.

For this week’s challenge, I am continuing a story I started for this challenge in early September.  To know the full story, I encourage you to read:

The Upload (Part 4)

The Upload (Part 5)

Through the dirty windows of the abandoned school, Will noticed a lot of activity in town.  He had been so caught up in his own sinister plans, he failed to realize that it was October 31st, Halloween.  Will began searching through the junk stored in the basement for anything he could use as a disguise.  Finding a box of metallic strands of beads and masks that were likely from a Mardi Gras celebration, Will put on a gold mask, grabbed his laptop and left the building.  The mask allowed him to move about town without being recognized.

Will saw a gang of teenagers that he used to consider friends but that was in the past.  Last night while hiding out in the basement, he watched the news on his computer and Jacob and others threw him under the bus for a few moments of fame with a reporter.  These former friends were about to be news themselves.  Using his laptop, Will sent a text message to Jacob.  When Jacob clicked on the message, there was a momentary flash of light and a noise that sounded like a fax machine and five teenage boys found themselves in the cloud.

Oh more and more evil with every upload. The cloud is going to reach maximum capacity soon. I wonder if they will start over writing each other? I am loving this story.
