The Upload (Part 4)
While Will was hiding in the dank basement of the old school, the citizens began to gather on street corners for impromptu town meetings. There was outrage and fear but there was also something not unlike patriotism. The people were protective of their neighbors and as the events of the last few days were unfolding, the citizens were ready to be called into action. Unfortunately it began to rain and at first it was a gentle mist that didn’t cause any alarm. There had not been any rain in the forecast but the meteorologists are sometimes wrong. As the rain became more intense, it was so loud from the deluge pounding parked cars and flooding the streets, the people couldn’t hear their neighbors. They began to run for cover. As some townspeople ran past the old school, the noise prevented them from hearing a deranged laugh from within. Will’s dangerous mental state was escalating. He was more out of control as his plans were succeeding. As more people were uploaded, the clouds produced unnatural levels of rain and this created more cloud space for his plans of world domination.
