Submitted for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea
Sea. What kind of emotions does the sea or ocean make you feel? Do you remember the first time you went in the water? Had a wave crash on you? Felt the sand burn your feet? Do you feel more peaceful around water? Do you hate the beach? What’s the most interesting thing about the sea for you? Lots of questions, lots of interpretations. Show me the different sides of Sea with your contribution! In a new post specifically for this challenge, share a photo which means SEA to you!
For me, the best way to experience the “SEA” is when I can experience it with limited crowds. Being of very fair skin type, the beach and sunbathing is not my idea of spending the day; however to experience the sea without a crowd and without the blazing sun is very tranquil to me. In New Jersey we have many shore towns and I have taken vacations there with my family. I love to get up fairly early and just walk on the beach or do the same in the evening after the crowds have left. The photograph above was taken in 2008 when my husband, daughter and I took a Disney Cruise at Easter. Further down the beach on this private island, Castaway Cay, there are crowds as this stop is a major part of the Disney Cruise Vacation but this little portion was nearly empty (probably as it was not near the lifeguards) and looks so peaceful. One of my other favorite activities while on this cruise was to go walk the deck on the ship in the morning. There were a few joggers but mostly it was empty. I would take a complete trip around and then sit in a deck chair and watch the sea. So peaceful.
