I guess it is “Throwback Thursday” because the last song I heard was one of my favorites from my high school days. Come Sail Away by Styx.
‘Cause I’ve Got to Be Free
I scheduled a few days off from work this week to turn labor day weekend into a six day stretch of time off. Accept for a planned trip to the Philadelphia Archives for some genealogical research, my family and I didn’t actually have any specific plans as we just decided to “wing it”. Well the “wings” are broken. We can’t decide on anything. As much as we have in common, we also have a lot that is not in common. Something that I think would fun to do, dies a quick death by my daughter and my husband and their suggestions aren’t sitting too well with me either.
Last night I took my daughter to the store to begin her back to school clothing shopping and I know there is more to do. My husband suggests that I use Thursday to take her for the rest. I said that I didn’t take a day off from work to go clothes shopping. I will take her on Saturday. He doesn’t understand the difference. He doesn’t understand that I don’t want to waist my day off from work on something I can do on a day I already have. Where he and my daughter would be content spending the day playing video games or watching a Dr. Who marathon that they create, I want to spend the day doing something I can’t do any day. I guess it is ’cause I’ve got to be free.
